answer-

Yes, i have witnessed a service innovation in health care organization. A service innovation benefits both the service producer and customers and it improves its developer's competitive edge. A service innovation is a service product or service process that is based on some technology or systematic method.

The innovation in service which i witnessed is Telemedicine. As we all know that traditionally, patients who are the customers for health care organization takes appointments with doctors and go visit to hospitals for minor or major or both problems but now customers who are living in remote areas like village or rural area and does suffer small problems related to health can get health care services at home with internet connection and computer system.

Telemedicine is increasingly gaining popularity over traditional healthcare owing to the rising use of telecommunication to deliver various healthcare services to patients. The telemedicine market in the United States is forecast to exceed $13 billion by 2021, according to research and consulting firm Pharmaion .

The industry of telemedicine is at a tipping point, expanding far beyond interactions between physicians and patients into entirely new ways to deliver healthcare and practice medicine.

Telemedicine increases access to care

Distance and travel time between patients and care providers can limit access to care. Fortunately, telemedicine can overcome geographic barriers to healthcare, especially for specialized providers. Telemedicine can be particularly beneficial for patients in medically underserved communities and those in rural geographical locations where clinician shortages exist.

Telemedicine improves quality of care delivery

Telemedicine can improve the quality of care for patients with both medical and mental health conditions. A recent study showed that with telemedicine, patients had:

  • 38% fewer hospital admissions
  • 31% fewer hospital re-admissions
  • 63% more likely to spend fewer days in the hospital
  • Were more engaged in their healthcare

Telemedicine reduces healthcare costs

Telemedicine can increase efficiency of care delivery, reduce expenses of caring for patients or transporting to another location, and can even keep patients out of the hospital. In fact, one study showed that telemedicine care had 19 percent savings over inpatient care cost.

so as a customer, this service innovation in a health care organization is a great option to get health care services.
