Cloning is a procedure by which exact genetic duplicates are made. Using cloning techniques, you have produced 10 cloned cows. However, the fur color of each of the calves looks very different from one another. Explain why this might have occurred.

Question

Cloning is the process of producing genetically identical individual. So, the offspring produced from cloning are same as they have same genetic material. So, the phenotype produced from the genotype , should be similar as of parent. But phenotype is dependent on the genotype and also on the environmental condition where the organism get clone. So, the each phenotype of the organism is dependent on the both genotype and the environmental conditions. So, in this case, 10 clone cow have produced calves of different fur color from parent, so there must be a environmental variation that could be responsible for that..Also, there exist an environmental variation too in cow womb environment.
