Answer #1

In order to minimize the issue for managers and coworkers when a new person comes on board, below actions can be taken:

  • Structured orientation program = It is very critical for new hires to understand about the company, culture and practices before getting in to the role
  • Exposure of working in different functions = A short stint for a month in different functions is a good idea to help people get exposed to working in different units and how they collaborate with each other
  • SOP = The standard Operating procedures for the work to be assigned is very helpful for new joiners to learn at their own pace and get back to an expert in case of any query
  • Online training videos = The portals which have training videos on technical nature of work is critical to help people learn as per their convenience
  • Mentor program = The new joiners must be assigned a mentor who can help to sort out queries and get onboard quickly by supporting in the initial phase
