3. The increasing importance of stories and videos and interactive content: The story feature on social media is trending as it has visual appeal and the content is dynamic. Individuals have a shorter span of concentration, so they like movements rather than static content. The companies use interactive content to engage the customers and to collect information through surveys.

4. The increasing importance of real followers over fake followers: There is the end of sponsored or fake followers on social media as the social media networking sites are removing unauthenticated likes and comments that use third-party apps to increase popularity.

5. Artificial intelligence in advertising and customer service: The companies are using the information from Google and other social media networking sites to advertise the relevant content to the customers. For example, if a customer has visited Amazon to purchase some products, Amazon and other e-commerce websites start pitching the advertisements of the products to the customers while surfing.

6. Increasing concerns for trust and data security: After the issues of data privacy breach from the Facebook account, customers are conscious and cautious for the data security. This is important for a marketer to consider while using social media for advertising and promotion.
