The first function of emotion includes the adaptive function. This means that emotions helps our body to prepare for an action. For example, our emotions can help us prepare for action such as fleeing, or driving up energy for a task. The second function of emotion is the social function. It helps to communicate our feelings and also allows others to predict our next move or what is currently going on. For example, one smiling and appearing happy when they see someone indicates that they are pleased to meet them. The third function of emotion is the motivational function. The feedback between emotions and motivation are constant. For example, emotions can help to develop motivation, and motivation can result in a certain emotional behavior.
