Organizational culture is the internal environment in which the employees work together to achieve the business objectives. The better the culture the more productive the organization will be. This culture cannot be created or implemented by any outside forces or rules and policies but the employees who work in the organization create the culture and improve it for efficient working. The three strategies that can improve organizational culture are:
- Transparency- Being open and transparent about where the company stands, where it has to be and what direction should be taken for that is the key to working collaboratively on that goal. The employees need to know what the company requires from them and trust them on working for those deliverables. The goals, strategies, financial standing, weak points should all be deeply explained to all employees if their input in the profits and strong work culture is to be maintained.
- Rewarding and coaching- These are two important aspects that can increase productivity and motivation in employees to work better. But it is important to understand how to do which one. The right way to reward and coach is rewarding in public and coaching in private as an employee who will be rewarded before people for his good performance will feel more recognized and valued and thus this will increase his enthusiasm to work even better. It will also give motivation and direction to other employees to follow him. And coaching should be done in private as no employee will want his weaknesses to be known in public and he will feel more responsible and focused if he is coached personally. Following this tactic, the other way can create a bad work culture with more negative competitiveness and demoralisation.
- encouraging teamwork and communication- The work culture should be made such where competition is less and employees are encouraged to work collaboratively as a team. This will help in putting in different skills, mindsets and experiences together to achieve a common goal. With delegating work according to efficiencies and collaborating it for a common output the work can be better and faster. A good communication network should also be formed for a collaborative work culture where all employees can openly communicate and clear their issues with any level of management and employees thus creating async to work for common objectives.
