order from low to high

  1. Conductors -Electrical resistivity is very low and ranges from 10-9 to 10-4(Ω-m).
  2. Usually alloys have higher resistivity than pure metals (conductors). To put it conceptually, the different atoms in the alloy cause the electrons to have more interruptions and scattering in their otherwise smooth flow.
  3. semiconductors - Resistivity is normally high and ranges between 10-3 to 103 (Ω-m).
  4. insulators - Resistivity is very high and ranges between 104 to 1017(Ω-m)
