Why do project management experts think it should involve heavy input from the sponsor (if they Don't outright write it)?

Sponsors play a major role in any project especially when we need to consider their position, power and what they bring to the table which is unique to them. Considering their value in the project, we can say that not only do they provide the financial capabilities, assistance and direction for the project, their experience in the industry allows them the ability to become expert, especially when we consider their ability to make use of their knowledge in order to help the management, the teams and the organization in extension, to deal with the complexity of the project.

There needs to be a considerable adherence to inclusion of the presence sponsors and this is what experienced project managers stress upon, to allow the company their knowledge, experience as well as the fact that they advocate for the project to be adopted by other members of the senior management as well allow us to consider their role and factor their inclusion in any project management planning and process.
