My project is to write a Business analysis report on a company that failed to implement the ERP system to its core business process.

As a group project, we chose the Waste Management company's ERP disaster on implementing SAP to their core system.

Now, we are in the initial phase, where we need to summarise the case for the project proposal. My part is the executive summary of the company when it tried to handshake with SAP.

As I'm near to the group's assigned deadline, I need more aggressive analysis on,

1. Vision/statement of the waste management company when it's implementing the SAP ERP system.

2. Company's history and it's legacy system business problems before the ERP implementation.

So, Please give a qualitative analysis with a good description, for the above points.

1. Vision/Statement of the waste management company when it's implementing the SAP ERP system.

The SAP ERP system is an enterprises resource planing system developed by a German company SAP SE. SAP stands for System Application and Data Processing. SAP is also defined by the name of ERP which stands for enterprise resources planing software as well as the name of company. SAP is used as full enterprise resource planing system which facilitate in helping with Financials, distribution, manufacturing,project management and customer relationship management(CRM) .

In the case of the Waste management company, In initial phase,when company tried to handshake with SAP, they were looking for new revenue management system. According to company SAP introduced it's waste and recycling product and makes claims about the product that they are tested. SAP promised and ensure that the software could be fully implemented in all wast management system within 18 months.

From the initial phase, SAP assured the waste management that the SAP software is a out of box solution that would meet the waste management needs without any customization and enhancements.   But the claims and promises made by SAP is untrue and false. Waste management revealed that the demonstration presented by SAP about the software prior to deal employed were " fake software environments" and these presentation are demonstrated as actual software.

2. Company's history and it's legacy system business problems before the ERP implementation.

The waste management company is considered as giant and leader in the field of waste management before the implementation of SAP ERP software system. The company works in U.S market and covers the entire nation while dealing in waste and garbage. Waste management deals in all aspect of working system activites related to waste and disposal which includes collection , transport , treatment , and disposal of waste.

The waste management company , in there operation process specially in waste and recycling process facing some urgent need for change and help. Waste management wants to make the waste and recycling process less expensive and more productive in terms of operation and revenue. And to do so, is the biggest challenge for company and the challenge becomes even bigger because of competition in market specially in field of waste management.

To sustain in a competitive and changing market, it becomes important for waste management company to improve it's external and internal working system and management . Company also felt need to find the new revenue management system.

The waste management company is facing all these challenges and problems before the ERP implementation. In fact these challenges and problems makes Waste management company to think about implementation of SAP ERP system.
