Why are Northeast Pacific populations of transient and resident killer whales thought to represent different ecotypes rather than different species?
There are three ecotypes present for whales:
The above are general things related to whales. They are not different species because they have occupied different habitats which ked to the evolutions in them according to that new habitat. The environment plays an important role in evolution or any change in an organism.
According to their prey preference, behaviors and social groups, they have divided their niche and also their habitat is different.
They are not considered as a species because of the above characters. As they show the grouping and some other features the same which indicates characters of a killer whale.

Various concepts have been proposed for things such as populations, species, niches, and communities. Why are these sorts of questions ultimately philosophical (esp. metaphysical) rather than biological? In formulating your response, use (at least) one of the above concepts as an example.

Figure 1A shows the locations of the five anole lizard
populations in the study. Figure 2A shows the mean
CTmin (critical thermal minimum, the temperature
at which lizards lose their coordination) over time for two of the
populations. Figure 2B compares the mean CTmin
values for all five populations in the summers of 2013 (closed
circles) and 2014 (open circles). Asterisks indicate that the
CTmin for a population was significantly lower...
Can I get a summary of this article name "Evolution Is Happening Faster Than We Thought" By MENNO SCHILTHUIZEN? — A FRIEND recently invited me over to see the blackbird that had taken up residence in a potted plant on her balcony. Serenely incubating eggs in the inner city, this bird had little in common with its shy, reclusive ancestors that nested in Europe’s forests. Early in the 19th century, probably in Germany, blackbirds began settling in cities. By the...
According to Robert Trivers, why are men generally larger and more physically aggressive than women? Because women are more reproductively “valuable” than men, hence competition for mates is fiercer among men Because men invest more heavily in reproduction than women Because men secrete more testosterone Trivers’ theory does not speculate on the origin of the sex difference in size and physical aggression Although some women are interested in casual sex (short-term mating), research has suggested that there are differences in...
A critical introduction into the study of religion.
Explain why Martin treats religion as a social construct—both the
category ‘religion’ and the stuff it denotes—using Kessler’s
discussion of the Dao and Anselm as examples.
How Society Works: Essentialism Animism and Essentialism According to some of the theories of primitive savages and primitive religion discussed briefly in Chapter 1, religion originated when ancient peoples attempted to understand and explain mysterious forces whose causes were beyond their primitive" understanding. What causes thunder?...

1a) Suppose a population of guppies was infected with a
parasite. In that population a mutation results in a parasite
resistant genotype that spreads through the population through
natural selection. A subsequent mutation in the parasite results in
a genotype that is unaffected by the newly evolved resistant guppy
genotype. What is the name of the hypothesis that explains this
host parasite “arms race”.?
1b) What is this name...
