These are physical or biological factors that alters the structure and species composition of the community

Ecological distrubance may be :
Exogenous : disturbance arriving from outside system - flood, fire, tornado etc.

Endogenous : disturbance arriving from biological interactions - predation, herbivory etc.

Some disturbance events random whereas others are predictable because as a result of local variation in intentisy of distrubance.
