Answer #1

Answer=

independent variable= An independent variable is defines as the variable that is changed or controlled in a scientific experiment.

- It represents the cause or reason for an outcome.

-  independent variables are the variables that the experimentor changes to test their dependent variables.

- A change in  independent variable directly causes a change in the dependent variable.

Examples of  independent variable -

1.A scientist is testing the effect of light and dark on the behavior of moths by turning a light on and off.The  independent variable is the amount of light and the moth's reaction is the dependent variable.

2.In the study to determine the effect of temperature on plant pigmentation,the  independent variable is the temperature,while the amount of pigment or color is the dependent variable.

dependent variable = is define as ,"is the variable being tested in a scientific experiment."

The dependent variable is dependent on the independent variable.

when experimentor changes the independent variable,the change in the dependent variable is observed and recorded.

1.A scientist is testing the effect of light and dark on the behavior of moths by turning a light on and off.The  independent variable is the amount of light and the moth's reaction is the dependent variable.

2.In the study to determine the effect of temperature on plant pigmentation,the  independent variable is the temperature,while the amount of pigment or color is the dependent variable.

negative control = is a part of a well- designed scientific experiment.The negative control group is a group in which no response is expected.

================================================================================

positive control= is a group in an experiment that receives a treatment with a known result

=============================================================================================

hypothesis= is defined as,"as an idea or explanation that you then test through study and experimentation.outside science,a theory or guess can also be called a hypothesis.

examples - 1.If I replace the battery in my car.then my car will get better gas milleage.

2.If I take my vitamins every day.then I will not feel tired.
