Two types of software are:

  • System Software: A system software provides capabilities to the user and the hardware to function and interact with each other.
  • Application Software: They are also called end-user programs because they enable the user to complete tasks, such as creating documents, spreadsheets, databases and publications, doing online research, sending email, designing graphics, running businesses, and even playing games

  • Hiding the complexities of hardware from the user.
  • Managing between the hardware's resources which include the processors, memory, data storage and I/O devices.
