Phototropins are flavoproteins which upon hitting with blue light will cause the bending of the higher plants towards the light source. Phototropin actually a light-activated serine/threonine kinase which gets sensitized by light with the LOV (Light-oxygen-voltage-sensing domain) domain present in the N terminal region of the protein.
