FCC regulate franchises by extending power to over-the-air television broadcasters who can publicly transmit their program in their spectrum. FCC has several rules and policies which are to be abided by the broadcasters to avail the FCC permission for broadcasting. It regulates the cable and satellite authority to protect the customers from additional charges and inappropriate services. FCC regulates the indecent broadcasting by censoring the contents. FCC can issue fines or any other legal steps against the satellite, cable television and internet broadcasters it finds the subject indecent with full of profane words. Following are also regulated by FCC:

• The rate for cable programming services

• Limit the future rate increase

• It keeps bills regulated for cable officers
