There are a number of ethical issues which are involved with studying intercultural communication, but the three most relevant ethical issues are listed below:

1. Developing self-reflexivity

Self-reflexivity raises awareness about one's own artificiality and how their own experiences influence the construction of reality. The cultural approach involves and encourages both self- reflexivity and empathy.  

2. Learning about others

It is important to learn about others, the differences and similarities while studying the communication of varied cultures.

3. Developing a sense of social justice

It is important to develop a sense of social justice and it is an ethical issue involved in intercultural interaction.
