Answer #1

Cell fate means to describe the future identity of a cell in the course of normal development. In simpler words, it is the way to identity the daughter cells, before it is actually phenotypically detectable through differentiation or division. It can be studied by labelling a particular cell with a specific marker and observing what structures it becomes a part of. Fate of a cell is influenced by a number of factors such as endogenous developmental factors, interaction with adjacent neighboring cells, or by an external signal such as morphogens and hormones. Based on the fate of each cell of a developing embryo, a fate map can be built, which is a diagram of that particular organism at an early stage of development and also indicates the later stage of development.
