In a teaching culture, employers take the onus of upskilling the employees by providing them training. In a learning organization, the employees themselves take the onus of their learning and development. Learning is acquired from many sources such as learning material, peer interaction, daily delivery of work etc. It is a long journey for an organization to move from teaching to learning culture. Currently, majority of organizations have a teaching culture where course material is pushed upon employees to keep them relevant to the needs of the organization. They are not close to a learning organization where learning environment is fostered through various interventions such as recognition of self learning.
