I am working for an ecommerce firm which deals in selling merchandise online and has its loyal base of customers. The organisational culture is very healthy in there, a feeling of trust is there which makes people help each other and also the goals are very clear because of which the people are able to communicate better as they have a single objective in mind instead of dilemmas and confusions. The culture includes values like credibility, trust, passion for the work the employees are doing, the integrity of the work, team work because employees understand that the output of one department acts as an input for the other. Also other aspects like the clarity in the problem that the company is trying to solve i.e. provide world class merchandise at affordable prices is also something that is keeping the employees striving hard to work together and achieve it. It is one of the finest organisations to work with since it takes a lot of feedback form its employees and all the relevant ones are incorporated so the employees feel respected and also the belief that people are over the processes is making the company utilize the employee skills in a much better manner. Focus on innovation also makes this place so much better to work for. Some of the changes that can be done as far as the culture is concerned are that firstly we constantly keep ourselves comparing with bigger players like Amazon but we should know our limitations and preferences of the customers and accordingly we should make changes in the system and blind comparison should be avoided. Hence to start with we can write an email to the decision makers explaining them the problem this replication of bigger websites is causing and what should be a better course of action to reach the heights where we want to as an organisation.
