3. OVERPRODUCTION
Producing more than the customer's demand adds up cost of time, space and transportation.

4. OVER-PROCESSING
Its irrelevent work done on the product which can increase its customer end price and extra resources.

5. WAITING
Its loss of productive time.

6. DEFECTS
A product with defects can ask for rework or it may turn scrap with no return value.

7. MOTION
Unnecessary motion of products lead to waste of productive time.

CANON'S NINE WASTES

1. QUALITY
Producting low quality or defective products.

2. FACILITIES
Having idle machinery, breakdown machinery, and more setup time.

3. TALENT
Not Employing in areas of interest of the employee.

4. MOTION
Not able to process best work standards.

5. PRODUCT DESIGN
Producing products with unnecessary functions.

6. INDIRECT LABOUR
More labour or less number of labour than required.

7. NEW PRODUCT RUN-UP
Unable to stabilize the production of the new product in a required time constraint.

8. WORK IN PROCESS
Stocking up unnecessary inventory.
