Imagine you are designing a warehouse to produce some sort of product. The product is not really important but what I want you to do is create a list of items you will need (Walls, blueprints, ect.) to produce that product. Then I want you to look at all the different cell parts and describe what cell parts performs the same function as what is needed in your warehouse. (DNA has the same function as blueprints).

The objective of this Assignment is to compare the performance of some standard SORT algorithms. You should look at MergeSort, QuickSort, and Insertion Sort; you can also look at an additional Sort mechanism that isn't covered in class or that isn't covered in the book for extra credit. You will have to find the right implementations in Java so that you can make your comparisons. Things you will be comparing are the raw running time and the time complexity in...

This assignment will test your algorithm/logic development in which you will perform the sort function with some different characteristics. You will be required to ensure that your program meets the following requirements: i.    Existence of an array which can accept an unknown number of positive integersii.    ExistenceofafunctionwhichcanperformadifferentsortwheretheEvennumberswillappear first before the Odd numbers. In this sorted sequence, all the even numbers will appear first in descending order followed by the odd numbers (in the same order). You are only allowed to use one...

    4. Experimental design and hypothesis construction; graphing predictions Imagine that you were studying whether or not a particular genetic mutation increases the risk of developing psoriasis, a skin disorder, in dogs. You have access to 20 dogs that have this mutation, and 20 dogs that do not have this mutation. Write proper, formal null and alternate hypotheses for this experiment. Describe the experimental design you would use to test your hypothesis. You may use the 20 dogs mentioned above; beyond...

To answer the next set of question you need to imagine how asg, hsg and asg expression might change in the three yeast cell types in the absence of the listed protein. If you imagine that the steady state levels of mRNA will increase in the absence of the protein then you would say it functions as a repressor. If you imagine that the steady state levels of mRNA will decrease in the absence of the protein then you would...

Imagine you want to get rich by genetically engineering tobacco plants to produce acai berry juice. To do so, you insert the genes for each of the enzymes in the hypothetical acai juice synthesis pathway, the first step of which is conversion of glucose to fructose. Your challenge is, if the concentration of acai berry juice gets too high, it is toxic to the cell. Furthermore, it would be nice to save glucose as the starting material for other processes....

You can create a simple anonymous function eigenvalues sum by the following line of code: and similarly, define eigenvalues product by Create at least five matrices and compute their eigenvalues sum, eigenvalues product, trace, and determinant. (You may need to look up trace and determinant in the Mathworks docu- mentation.) What, if anything, do you notice? You are a T-helper cell in your immune system and are deciding what parts of the immune system to marshall against an incoming invader. For this assignment, you will be presented with a pathogen and its arsenal of virulence factors that it can use against you. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to pick the portions of the immune system that you will use against each virulence factor and then describe how that immune system part inactivates...

I have some cell biology questions that I would like a bit of explaining. Thank you! Antibodies are proteins manufactured by B lymphocytes against specific antigens. An initial B lymphocyte has variety in the antibodies it will manufacture, but when triggered to produce antibodies, will make specific antibodies for the rest of its life. How might this be accomplished? Hybridoma cells - how can these form? What properties of a fusion agent would be needed? What are the benefits and...
