What is a collective fiction and what role does it (or do they)
play in making Homo sapiens unique?
The collective fiction is a ideology that a person or community beliefs in even if it is not real because you can't touch it, feel it or see it and because of their believe, it appears to real.
The collective fiction means when a group of people collectively believe in same thing that it becomes real to them as it effects psychology of a person.
Nature of homo sapiens or humans is quite unique and collective fiction do play a big role in that.
Humans try to find meaning in everything, we discover things, we try to relate them like discovering things from the history and then finding its relation to the present and formulating stories about it and whichever story most of the people find appealing, we start believing that it is the truth.
we study evolution of earth and origin of life, till now, we have no clear theories about origin of life but we still study and research on the basis of previous theories we belief in.
HUMANS have a untiring desire of giving meaning to the things that have no meaning in actual. This unstoppable desire of finding meaning and making everything better is the only thing that makes it too different from other organisms.
HOMO SAPIENS/ HUMANS use collective fiction in their daily life incidents to make our life better.
The idea of collective is important because we not just believing in stories, we are making them principles of our lives that have a direct influence on our lives. LIKE, it can make a person do bad thing but as well as good thing depending on situation and theories we believe in.
The best examples that can be used to explain collective fiction are traditions, CULTURE, RELIGION &GOVERNANCE.
Every community has its own belief in tradition, culture, religion which are transferred from generation to generation and different communities have different principles and beliefs. People with similar ideas are grouped in the same community.
Every person wants freedom, democracy, gender equality and our belief in these ideas is equally effective as something realistic thing can.
for example, a person can kill an animal or another person to eat when he is hungry, well, being hungry is the real thing because you can feel it, but you can also kill a person if he tries to take away your freedom and democracy or independance from you but freedom or democracy is an idea and its not real but can affect the person in the same way and can also produce same results.
HUMANS are very involved with the collective fiction as it helped us in developing so many things like philosophical ideas , different languages we speak, arts and culture which makes us different and unique from everyone.
