ANSWER :

There are two main types of fermentation; a) lactate fermentation and b) alcoholic fermentation. But they are anaerobic processes but different on the basis of their products and metabolic pathways.

The ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH) and carbon dioxide (CO2) are two main products of alcoholic fermentation, hence used in beverage industry produce beer and other alcoholic products. Lactic acid or lactate is the main product of lactate fermentation process.

The lactate fermentation occurs in the lactobacillus bacteria that convert the milk into the curd and alcoholic fermentation happens in unicellular eukaryotic fungus that generally known as yeast.
