Now ask yourself which of these barriers seem to affect your own communication habits. How might Cuddy’s analysis help you to understand and improve the barriers to your own communication habits?
answer-
In our business life or daily life we face barriers to communication which can affect our communication habbits. these barriers are individual barriers to communication like Conflict goal barrier or inconsistent barriers. for example- an employees says to his co-worker that she will complete the work on Tuesday but she provide the work on thursday which creates conflicts or barrier.
another example could be a general manager says to their employees that he open to suggestions but one day he frustrated and scold on employees to not to give suggestion this makes inconsistent barriers.
another barriers to individual communication can be Lack of Credibility in communication. for example- rumors in workplace is not credible source of information. Lack of credibility means source of information or sender can not be trusted.
other factors of barriers could be noises like errors in signals while on phones, office noises etc.
these barriers can make our communication habits ineffective as we can lose our communication skills like listening or writing if these are present.
These communication habbits can be improved by use of cuddy's analysis in which we have to improve our individual skills like
develop good listening skills even we are in noises.
understand the meaning and language of the sender to know what he/she trying to convey
always go for credible source of information means use credibility
be sensitive to the perspective of sender as well as receiver
if these skills are fostered then barriers can be overcome.
