1) What is the difference between norm referenced and criterion referenced achievement tests? Which type would you use in an academic situation? in a clinical situation? 2 ) What is the primary difference between objective and projective personality tests and why would you choose to use one over the other? 3) Why is factor analysis used in developing most objective personality tests?
1. In norm referencing grading , the major influennce on a grade in students standing in comparison of others who also took the course. Here measure the performance of students with comparison of others students in classroom. It is bell curved . But criterion reference achievement test is not based on whole class performance . It simply measure what a student does know . 34% is passing marks of examination which is criteria reference test but a student determined percentile rank as compare of other students is an example of norms reference test.
In academic situation , we are mainly used of norms reference test. Here , we are asses academic achievment of a student as compare with other students. A student secured 80 marks out of 100 but we can't determined his score excellent untill compare the marks of other students . In clinical situation , we are mostly used criterion reference test where completely focused on measure specific set of skill .
2. The primary different between objective test and personality test is realiblity and validity . Objective test is more reliable , valid and have usability but projective test full of subjectivity. Objective test mainly used to collect Quantitive data but in personality test , we are focus on Qualititive data . When we need to understand the unconcious behaviour of person then we should used projective test over objective test. But when we need structured response then we can used objective test over projective test.
3. Factor analysis helps to find out most appropriate variable after analysis of lots variable . To develop most objective personality test , and to find out relationship between diffrent variable , factor analysis is used.

1. What is the difference between cross-sectional and time-series ratio analysis? What is benchmarking? 2. When performing cross-sectional ratio analysis, the analyst should pay primary attention to what types of deviations from the norm? Why? 3. Why is it preferable to compare ratios calculated using financial statements that are dated at the same point in time during the year?
A researcher is interested in the relationship between students’ participation in tutorials and academic achievement. She states the following hypothesis in the description of her study: Students who participate in tutorials that emphasise critical thinking skills will score higher on measures od academic achievement and self-esteem than students who participate tutorials that emphasise rote memorisation. Identify the variables in this study. What would be good names for the variables? Identify the independent variable(s) and dependent variable(s). Describe how each variable...
