Yes I do think that a consultant should have special skills . The special skills are like analytical thinking , subject matter expertise , up to date knowledge about the prevailing business environment , good oral and written communication skills , behavior skills, ability to work as team member, commercial awareness, innovative and creativity ,progressive thinking and having problem understanding and solving techniques.
These skills can be learned and further polished over the period of time though repeated training, reading , gathering information , participation .
