lacZ codes for the beta-galactosidase enzyme, which can convert X -gal to a blue coloured product if the lac Z gene in the plasmid is intact it will produce, blue coloured colonies, since there is ampicillin resistance gene in the plasmid the transformed cells can form colonies in the ampicillin plate, here the DNA fragment is introduced into the lacZ gene so the lacZ gene is not intact so the functional beta-galactosidase is not produced in the cell so the colonies will appear white, and is resistant to the ampicillin so the answer is

white colonies that are resistant to ampicillin.
