Supply chain management is a process of integration from raw materials procurement to facility of production to delivery the finished good to end customers or users. The whole chain of activities and its efficient and effectiveness conduct will be called as supply chain management ( SCM) .

In other words, it manages the set of activities where supply of inputs to factory or even the supply of produced to markets may be managed with help of different supply chain partners.

Now a days, business organizations try to involve sustainability practices so that green supply chain can be ensured. A good supply chain management will offer national competitive advantage to a country. Global supply chain and logistics index helps organizations to know about countries having great potential to do business in this segment. Ultimately, it is basics of economics where supply and demand forces can be balanced through various methods.
