Strategic Business Unit is the independent managed division or unit of a company which have its own competitor set. The division of company which have its own vision, mission and pre-determined goals. SBU have it own planning which is done separately from main business of company.

Characteristics:

- A manager is assigned for the strategic planning, profitability as well as performance of that particular division.  

- It has separate division structure that is determined by its production size, technological and research activity.
