Would the genomic DNA isolated from blood differ from those isolate from cheek cells? Motivate your answer.

DNA in all cells of the body is same.

But few recent studies says that qualitatively there must be a slight changes.

But Dna and its functions remains same through out the body cells

No, the DNA itself is the same because all your cells share the same genetic code. But:


  • Blood DNA comes from white blood cells and usually gives more DNA for testing.


  • Cheek cell DNA is easier to collect (just a swab) but may have less DNA and some bacteria mixed in.

The genes won’t change, but small things like contamination or how much you get can differ. For most tests, either works!
