1) When I woke up the next morning, I was surprised to find that I had overslept and would be late for work. As I rushed down the stairs to eat a quick breakfast, I tripped over my bag and I was scared of my cat because he went poo. And his poopoo was on the floor rather than in the cat sand box. I had no time whatsoever to clean up, but I had to. If not, my wife's probably going to get mad. So I quickly cleaned it up and picked up my breakfast. I didn't care whether or not I washed my hands, I just wanted to get into my car.

2) On my way to work, I decided to take a shortcut through an old part of town. Unfortunately, because that area was under construction, it was terrible traffic. Each lane was moving very slowly. I was 5 minutes late and in the morning I had an important meeting. All of a sudden, my phone rang, my boss was crazy, but I didn't want to pick up. I'm not supposed to take this road to work. I was just going to get out of here.

3) When I arrived at work, I found a not from my boss on my desk. She wanted to see me right away. I took a deep breath and walked into her office. As I stepped inside, I noticed a scowl on her face. I tried to explain the mistake I made yesterday to her, but she didn't give me any chances, she didn't even want to listen to me, but she just screamed at me as usual. She told me if I didn't fix it now, this business would be lost by the corporation and my salary would be cut for three months. When she said that, I was so mad, but I had to say that I was sorry and that I worked harder in the world.

1) As I rushed downstairs to eat a quick breakfast, I tripped on my bag and fell.
I was already running late, and in my hurry, I didn’t notice my bag lying right by the stairs. Before I knew it, I was tumbling down, landing with a thud. My toast flew out of my hand, and I could hear my phone clatter on the floor. I sat there for a moment, rubbing my sore knee, wondering how my day had started off on such a chaotic note. But there was no time to dwell—I had to get moving!

2) On my way to work, I decided to take a shortcut through an old part of town.
Traffic was crawling, and I didn’t have the patience to sit in my car for another 20 minutes. I remembered an old route that cut through a quieter part of town, lined with vintage shops and cozy cafes. As I drove through the narrow streets, I couldn’t help but notice how the area had retained its charm—colorful murals on brick walls and small bakeries opening up for the day. For a brief moment, I felt a sense of calm amid the morning rush, but I was soon reminded that I was still running late.

3) When I arrived at work, I found a note from my boss on my desk.
The moment I walked in, I noticed the neatly folded note resting on my keyboard. My stomach did a little flip as I opened it. “See me in my office ASAP,” it read. My heart raced as I tried to figure out what could be wrong. Taking a deep breath, I headed toward her office, feeling the weight of uncertainty. As I stepped inside, her piercing gaze met mine, and I could immediately tell—this was not going to be a pleasant conversation.
