As represented in the question the metabolic pathway involves mutiple steps that finally gives the product. Different enzymes are working on it and most importantly the metabolic pathway is one directional. That means the enzymes only carry out forward reaction and none of the enzymes can carry out reverse reaction. So a mutation affecting the gene for enzyme 3 would lead to the accumulation of only (option a) C. No product will be formed. As enzyme 1 and 2 are working and no reverse reaction is possible so only the amount of intermediate product C will increase.
