Jack Welch was the chairman and CEO of GE and he played a significant role in converting a slow and struggling organization into one of the most dynamic organizations in the business. While he was working as the CEO of GE, the worth of GE raised from $14 billion to hundreds of billions. There are a number of business experts who think Jack Welch to be the ideal leader who can be the inspiration for most of the entrepreneurs.

When Jack Welch was leading GE, the managers were given the free end to operate their business units as the entrepreneurial entity Jack Welch was very firmed in order to improve the collective power of manpower working in GE and he gave a lot of importance in changing the relationship between the senior and lower staff. In his opinion, the manpower is the origin of creativity and innovation and most of the organization faces a lot of difficulties in accepting the counterculture face that by giving away from the path of the employees, this manpower can be best managed.

Jack Welch was considered as a transformational and transactional leader. He developed an environment in the organization which can boost and promote the creativity and innovation in the organization by providing free hand and liberty to take the decision to all the employees. He developed an organizational culture which is free for any kind of communication and anyone can approach any level of management. His transactional leadership is reflected by the fact that he believed in the fact that the highest performing managers and employees must be rewarded and recognized on the other hand those who are not able to keep the pace of the organizational growth and development should not be the part of the team.

He was a transformational leader as he totally converted the manner in which the organization used to be operated. He removed any kind of formality in the organization, boosted innovation and creativity, removed any hindrance in the path or free communication. He removed bureaucracy from the organization and created a culture of free flow and decentralization.
