Answer #1

Nuclear weapons are generally designed to work with the radioactive isotopes of Plutonium and Uranium.

There are other radioactive isotopes such as Thorium, but these have very long disintegration periods, so their use in nuclear weapons is limited or nil.

1 (6)Uranium has three naturally occurring isotopes 22U, 235s2U, and 3 2U. The isotope Uranium-235is considered to be "weapons grade uranium" and can be used to make atomic weapons. The fractional abundances for two of the uranium isotopes are uranium-238-99.274% and Uranium-234-0.005%. The molecular mass of natural uranium is 237.9758amu. What is the fractional abundance of weapons grade uranium using these numbers (note: the number on the periodic table takes into account isotopes that aren't natural so use the numbers...

Question 1 You run a company that operates and maintains nuclear power plants for generation of electricity You have realised that the highly risky nature of a nuclear power plant operation makes the industry very competitive and costly to maintain. You knew three of your nuclear power plants required reactor core replacement due to faulty components. You were notified by your technicians that imm replacements are needed to prevent a possible nuclear reactor core melt. res were mostly focused on...

A horizontal spring mass system is to be constructed. A spring which has a spring constant of 3 kg/s2 will be used. The system should be designed so that when it is released and vibrating freely (there is no forcing) the amplitude of its vibrations will decay like ?−0.4t, and it should oscillate with a period of 4 seconds. (Although the motion is oscillatory it is not strictly periodic because the amplitude decays exponentially. In this context "period" refers to...

A concentration cell is constructed using two Ag-AgBr electrodes, each of which is based on the half-reaction: AgBr(s) + e ⇌Ag(s) + Br (aq), E° = 0.070 V. If the anode half-cell contains 0.050 M Br and the cell has an initial potential of 0.090 V at 25°C, what is the concentration of Br− in the cathode? The answer is .0015M please explain why this is correct and how to solve
