Microbiologists have cultures a great diversity of microorganisms but know that an even greater diversity exists, despite the fact that tey have never seen these organisms or grown them in the laboratory. How can you demostrate that this statement is correct or incorrect?

There can be various opinions on different grounds about the given statement, because on a personal level of thinking many people might believe in different facts and possibilities. The field of molecular biology is such that the only thing that can be considered constant in biology is change, and that change maybe with respect to many factors. In my opinion, i would consider this statement to be true on the basis of genetics. We know that each and every organism on this planet is subjected to physiological changes during its life cycle, as every gene that is responsible for making it undergoes regular changes, either because of previous genetic history or environmental changes. The most familiar example is human evolution from apes, if today we think about it, it must've been impossible to even imagine this kind of change and also a very logical example is that of viruses. It's difficult to create vaccinations against them because they mutate faster, and their genetic composition modifies at a higher rate giving rise to variety of viral diseases. So on these grounds it can be said that either over a period a few or a lot of years genetic composition of microorganisms would change resulting in a greater variety than that which is in existence now.
