compared to major depression, persistent depression disorder or dysthymia is shorter in duration because persistent depression is a continuous long term chronic form of depression. you may lose in interest in normal daily activities, feel hopeless, lack productivity and have low self esteem and overall feeling of inadequacy. these feelings last for years and many significantly interfere with your relationship, school work and daily activities. persistent depression usually comes and go over a period. reasons can be biological differences, brain chemistry, inherent traits and life events. that major depression is the persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest that characterized, can lea to a range of behaviors and physical symptoms. the symptoms can be anxiety, apathy excess sleepy, fatigue, loss of appetite, lack of concentration, weight loss or gain.
