Ethanol fermentation is biological process carried out in organism such as yeast. Cellular energy in the form of ATP is produced by converting carbohydrates such as glucose, fructose or sucrose into ethanol and carbon dioxide. The entire process takes place in the absence of oxygen and is therefore referred to as anaerobic fermentation. It has lot of commercial uses in alcohol industry, ethanol fuel etc.The glucose is first converted to pyruvate which is the glycolysis step . This pyruvate is then converted to ethanol and carbon dioxide which is the fermentation step.
Hence the summary equation for ethanol fermentation is
C6H12O6 +2ADP ----------------- 2C2H5OH +2C02
The main product of this process is energy generation in the form of ATP molecules followed by ethanol and carbon dioxide which are the byproducts.
The entire process occurs in the absence of oxygen and is an anaerobic process

During the process of fermentation: Oxygen is required which makes the air pockets in bread There can be 3 types - Lactic Acid, lactic digestion & alcoholic Some ATP is produced Carbon dioxide and nitrogen gas are produced
- Attempt 1 ar Respiration and fermentation summary ③ 3 ott Part C - Fermentation - ATP production in the absence of oxygen Under anaerobic conditions (a lack of oxygen), glycolysis continues in most cells deste the fact that oxidative phosphorylation stops and its production of NAD (which is needed as an input to glycolysis) also stops. The diagram Vlustrates the process of fermentation which is used by many cols in the absence of oxygen In fermentation, the NADH produced...

Write out the general equation representing anaerobic alcoholic fermentation of glucose.
Write the overall equation for the process: C6H12O6----------> * The protons and electrons from NADH produced during glycolysis are combined with pyruvate to from the various end products of fermentation. This frees up the NAD+ carrier to continue glycolysis

Would this shift the reaction...
The process of photosynthesis produces oxygen as a by-product, but does not require it to make sugar. Therefore, is it accurate to say that plants do not need molecular oxygen (O2)? Explain your answer.
