Stab tubes are used to test the motility of the bacteria in which solid agar is taken in a test tube and the bacteria is introduced into it by taking the inoculating needle straight to the near bottom end of the tube.
if the bacteria migrate from the line of inoculation and form a diffused turbidity around the surrounding medium, then it indicates that the bacteria is motile. But, if the bacteria grows only along the line of inoculation, it means that the bacteria is non-motile.
Coming to your part, you asked that; If there wasn’t growth all the way through, what does it mean??. So, it only means that the bacteria is non-motile.
Hope it helps, Good luck !!!!

From the choices below, select all that occur after pollination. -egg cells enter the pollen tube. -the pollen grain swells and a pollen tube emerges from it. -sperm cells move along in the pollen tube. -the pollen grain ripens and matures into the plant's seed. -the fruit dissolves to feed the seeds. -the style swells and becomes a fruit -the pollen tube grows into the ovule. -the pollen tube grows down into the style of the flower. -the...

What ACTUALLY happened? What is a plausible explanation if there
was any discrepancy?
How did the observed BclI and EcoRI digest results compare to
the expected results? If they differed, list a potential reason
why?
BclI was incubated at 50°C, while EcoRI was incubated at 37°C.
Why was this necessary? What might you predict to occur if you

This is what we did in the experiment .First of all,1 µl of
plasmid DNA was added into the tube which contains competent cells
and the tube was tapped gently to mix DNA and the competent
bacteria. After that it was placed on ice for 30 minutes. Then, the
tube with the competent bacteria and plasmid were transferred to
heating block at 42 °C and the tube was leaved in there exactly 90
seconds. 0.25 ml of LB broth was...
