Global citizenship refers to the concept that every human being is connected to other human beings all over the world instead of the people of his/her locality or country. Hence, global citizenship dismantles barriers between human beings that are created by cultural differences, politics or geography. Global citizenship entails recognition of one's rights as a human being in general and also one's responsibilities towards humanity. It encourages people to respect cultural diversity, combat social injustice and use resources sustainably.

Privileges of global citizenship

  • Global citizenship recognizes the idea that all human beings are born with equal rights. Global citizenships assures every human being of the right to receive health services and other basic amenities.
  • Children are given the privilege of receiving proper education and global and their right to leisure, culture and play are protected.
  • Global citizenship also stresses the importance of every human being's right to live in a safe world by advocating an end to nuclear warfare.
  • It protects children and women all over the from forced trafficking and sexual violence.

Responsibilities of global citizenship

  • It is the responsibility of every global citizen to use natural resources sustainably so that no human being faces problems due to the depletion of resources.
  • A global citizen should respect cultural, ethnic and religious diversity among human beings.
  • Global citizens also have the responsibility of combating human rights violations and social injustice anywhere in the world.

Challenges of global citizenship
