Explain the different ways in which HR objectives can be delivered in organisations. Guidance The first part of this question requires you to describe three key objectives that your HR function has main responsibility for. For example, if an objective of the organisation is to improve absence rates, you would provide an overview of HR’s role in the success of this. You also need consider how these have evolved/are evolving in the organisation. The second part of this question is more general and requires you to explain at least two different ways that HR objectives can be delivered. Consider the advantages/disadvantages of examples such as shared services, outsourcing or HRBP.

1. The three key objectives that HR has to function is as follows:

  1. Strategic Mangement: The HR management has to be proactive in planning the future requirements and meeting the continuous long-term and short-term objectives by proper planning of staffing, talent acquisition, feedback and appraisal & development of an employee which increases the productivity of an employee and achieve in goals of HR and organization.
  2. Policy formulation: HR has to be updated with the policies and procedures with the new hires and employees working in the organization to make them understand the culture, code of conduct and performance appraisal manuals and the income.
  3. Maintaining Employee Relations: HR has to work with thousands of brains, heart & hand and must see that there should not be any differences amongst employee and maintain a fair relations among all the employees working in the organizations to meet the goal congruence.

2. HR objectives are evolving day by day and thier process of delivering the HR objectives is as follows:

  1. HR has evolved very fast from Human Resource Planning(HRP), Human Resource Management(HRM) to Human Resource Development (HRD) as Strategic HR(SHR) which is affecting the HR decisions nowadays.
  2. Outsourcing or shared services has its own ways of an advantage as it helps in improving the cost structure of the firm, quality, knowledge, and shared expertise & managing the risk.
  3. Outsourcing or shared services has its own disadvantages as well such as failure to realize the business value, employees interest and cultural differences, employees turnover and attrition is at stake.
  4. With the evolving HR aspects, it has even given the dimension to add the technology to the recent era in HR domain to make it more effective and productive as well.
  5. From managing the strategic challenges to overcoming the complexities arising in HR field the HR professional is trying to deliver the best practices and help in achieving the objectives.

HR is a very challenging domain of the business which needs to handle the many brains, hearts & hand to deliver the objectives and meet the competitive challenges in day to day corporate environments.
