Predictions on the changing behaviors of the baby boomers

The number of baby boomers has a strong economic impact on the tourism and economic industry of Australia. The baby booming generations are providing so many opportunities for the travel and tourism industry. The behaviors of the baby boomers are changing significantly. The five behavioral predictions about the baby booming industry are as follows

  • The behaviors of the baby boomers can be recreational which is related to consumer satisfaction. The traveling communication may be related to the long-term psychological needs with life plans, such as self-actualization
  • The motivational level of the travelers' behavior may be changed through a career based hierarchical needs. The growing trend of travelers experience may get older. The need for attainment in the lower order can be predicted as the prime-motivational level of early-adult baby boomers.
  • Relaxation and leisure can be highly prioritized on the holidays for the baby boomers. Skiing and skating can be identified as the leisure and relaxation activities on the holidays for the baby boomers.
  • The escaping and seeking dimensions may be added to the travel motivations. The young travellers can be targeted for the escaping tourism and the seeking tourism can be targeted for the old-aged travellers. The travellers’ behaviour can be predicted different according to their generations.
  • It can be predicted that the baby boomers may learn and discover new activities with the increase of motivation level. Example-Skiing can be predicted for the holidays which are motivated to discover new aspects of life.
