Every organization has its own particular needs. As such, organizations should have leadership put in place that is effective. That said, there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to leadership. In your local business, organization, or place of employment, identify an effective leadership model that you feel would be appropriate for your organization's goals, objectives, and overall mission. In your estimation, is the leadership in your organization effective? If so, in what ways? If not, what might you recommend if provided the opportunity?
When providing your response, be sure to tie in the key concepts gained in the course thus far. Simply providing a critique of your organization is not enough. You should critically analyze the current state of your organization, the overall leadership approach, and recommendations for improvement if needed.
Leadership models
A clear vision, mission and shared values in organizations are the key elements characterized by a high performing teams and organization. They will aim at inspiring employees and motivating them to bring their best and providing picture of future success to the organization. Good leadership model will help the organization in achieving the objectives, goals and mission. Leadership model in organizations is the guide that will suggest some specific leadership behavior to be used in a specific environment The core foundation of leadership model is the belief that there is no best approach to leadership. Effective leadership will therefore be viewed as task-relevant, situations where leaders adapt their leadership styles successfully Different organizations apply different leadership model. In my organization the executive manager applies the same leadership tactics across the entire organization rather than passing directives through intermediaries or subordinates Application of situational leadership model could be used in this organization to help it improve in performance and attain its goals, objectives and mission. Situational leadership model is a type of leadership that promotes managerial activities in organization by combining a range of many managerial styles so as to cater to different people in the same organization. By the organization applying this model the manager will have the capabilities to deal with a wider range of people in the organization and create a more innovative and employee-centric organization ,through promotion of direct contact between him and staff members at all levels. The other advantage of the model to the organization is that the leaders will be free to place less emphasis on particular tasks in the organization or less emphasis on relationships among employees. The model will enable employees to focus more on the component needed to getting the task accomplished successfully. In conclusion I would advise my organization to adapt situational leadership model as it is a model that will help managers influence the employees more thus attaining the goal, mission and organization`s objective.
