Describe how the permitting process is different for generators, treatment, storage, transportation and disposal facilitates of hazardous waste?

hazardous waste is nothing but the objects/substance which is unsafe/risky to living organisms & having the capacity of destroying the living organisms. (plants, animals etc)

apart from the other substances, hazardous waste should be treated properly, then the treated waste is stored and transported and then finally disposed without affecting to living things.

There are many generators of hazardous waste. for our case let us take an example of Nuclear waste.

1. Nuclear reactors are used to generate power in order to meet the power demand in the society. in oder to get power, nuclear power is one of the ways of getting higher amount of power.
2. The nuclear wastes are first treated in order to reduce the radiation level. if the radiation level is not retarded, the radiations from the waste will affect the living things.
3. The treated nuclear waste is stored inside the metal container. the metal container should be thick enough to withheld the radiations. then the metal container is the sealed properly without any leakage.
4. The metal container containing the nuclear waste is then transported to oceans or desert locations where there are no living things. the transportation is done by ships/roadways.
5. finally the metal container having the nuclear waste is disposed in to sea/oceans at higher depth where it should not affect the fishes. and in some cases of desert, waste is disposed into earth crust at higher depths.

since these are hazardous waste is unsafe to plants and animals, the industries handle them with care compared to all other non hazardous waste.
