The main ethical issue regarding the market research is maintaining privacy of people who participates in research and on whom research is conducted.
Privacy of people are easily being compromised given the competition among companies to gather more and more data about people so that they can rely on these data for strategy making and research which will eventually increase their sales.
The greed to grow and easy access to data tempts these big companies to go without even thinking of ethics.
Suggestion to fix this problem or issue of ethics is to put stricter laws for preventing such acts and spreading awareness about ethics so that the business does not involve such methods for market research which hampers their own brand image and people privacy.
