Answer #1

Q1): What is a 5G Cellular network?

Ans):

  • 5G is the fifth generation of wireless communications technologies supporting cellular data networks
  • 5G networks are digital cellular networks, in which the service area covered by providers is divided into small geographical areas called cells.
  • All the 5G wireless devices in a cell communicate by radio waves with a local antenna array and low power automated transceiver (transmitter and receiver) in the cell
  • Speed limits in 5g should in future reach up to 10 Gbit/s
  • 3 main uses for 5g are :
  1. Enhanced Mobile Broadband (EMBB)
  2. Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC)
  3. Massive Machine-Type Communications (MMTC)
  • Only EMBB is deployed in 2019 but URLLC & MMTC is available in location years ago.

Q2): How does its work?

Ans):

  • Like other cellular networks, 5G networks use a system of cell sites that divide their territory into sectors and send encoded data through radio waves.
  • Each cell site must be connected to a network backbone, whether through a wired or wireless backhaul connection
