Are consumers being protected adequately from unsafe products? Give a specific example.
Yes, in my opinion the government laws take many action to protect the consumers from getting injured by defective products.
As people gets really dependent on the products and services to get their work done and to make their life easier, so defective and unsafe products leads to consumers' injury and sometimes serious harm. So, in this case it is safe to say that consumers don't have to worry all the time regarding the safety of the products as there are various laws in our society which protect the consumers from defective products. And if a consumer gets injured by a product then there are various laws which would help a consumer to recover from the injury and would held the manufacturer, supplier, retailer liable for the injury. Not even that, there are laws which covers protection of consumers before they even launched in the marketplace, only in the hope of prevention of any injury. Federal Congress has enacted the Consumer Product Safety Act in 1972, aims to protect the consumers against injury caused by any product.
Hope this helps :)
