**The two people that come to mind for this discussion are Matthew and Jenny. They were both HR coordinators where I worked. Jenny had done HR aspects of work for years and was liked and trusted by her peers. She did not hide what she was doing when it came to granting vacations or scheduling overtime. At any time any one of the people in her group could look over her shoulder and see what she was doing or question why something happened a certain way. She was always confidential with the aspects of HR that needed to be confidential and transparent with the rest.
On the other hand, Matthew was always trying to cheat the system. He was low in seniority so he used his role as HR coordinator to his advantage as often as possible and often claimed ignorance as an excuse when he was caught doing something that was not right. He seemed to talk a mile around something if a question was asked and often confused people to the point that they gave up and walked away.
Introduction
Human Resource is one of the most crucial activity for achieving organizational goals and success. It concerns of people management which are the very core resources for any organization. Human resource policy is a set of specific guidelines based on beliefs and principle of the organization that helps in managing the people and making crucial decisions related to human resource management.
In this context, Matthew and Jenny are both HR Coordinators. They are responsible for creating a positive work atmosphere within the organization so people can perform their work in a more efficient and effective way. HR coordinators are also responsible for creating and maintaining HR Policies within the organization and strives for performing the action within the guidelines.
Facts, Experiences, and Data
Although Jenny and Mathew are in the same position and are responsible for performing the same work, still there are very much differences in their way of working and action. Jenny had a good experience in handling HR activity and also understands the very nature of HR activities. She is very transparent and fair in her work. She understands the nature and scope of their work and always tries to perform their work within the HR Policies. Human Resource Management has four basic functions:
Jenny is well versed in performing all the above-depicted functions. That's why she understands the needs of Each employee and able to win trust among them. She could able to motivate and maintain a healthy relationship with their peers by performing each of the basic HR Functions.
On the other hand, Matthew seems to little incapable of performing these functions, just because they might not have a very good experience in performing HR activity. His action is self-centered. He always tries to cheat the system for their own benefits which result in lack of people involvement.
Conclusion
A strategy linked human resource planning encourages cooperation between HR Coordinators and employee. HR coordinators should be responsible and accountable for their action. HR policies and principle will decide the nature of the work environment which they offer to their people. It should be understood that without proper coordination and cooperation, the company can never be able to achieve its organizational goal. Transparency and fairness play a crucial role in building trust among the employee and leads to a great level of involvement.
