How has society’s view of the environment changed over time? What does the Christian Worldview say about protecting the environment? Use specific Bible verses to support your answer.
Humans interact with environment for resources & huge advances in technology & science has benefited us in exploiting it for human needs. Meanwhile, in doing so we have also caused damage to the environment to great extents. Society has realised that without a healthy environment, it's difficult for us to live despite growing science. Societies have been promoting to plant more trees due to dangerous global warming and pollutions which could threaten the life on earth if it's left unchecked. Pollutions are a major problem which are caused alone by the humans and it's the responsibility of humans to find a solution for the better future of all organisms. Societies are now well aware of the consequences and effects they could face in future if the selfish actions of humans continue without an end. So these human activities are going on in a systematic way and the damages already caused are being healed through various environmental activities.
The Christian worldview says not to damage the environment we live because it's a place that God created for us to live in. He created it beautiful and gave it to our hands so it's our responsibility to keep it just like as it was.
Some of the Bible verses are:
"The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land". PSALM 95:5
" the God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it". GENESIS 2:15
"I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and made my inheritance detestable." JEREMIAH 2:7
