  • Glutaraldehyde is incomparable in its capacity to conserve cell ultrastructure. It is due to the introduction of irreversible intra-and intermolecular cross-links into cellular proteins by the dialdehyde. Glutaraldehyde is very efficient in stabilizing surface as well as intracellular structures for microscopic examination.

  • T. vorax growth medium adjusted to pH 5 in order to prevent digestion of the India ink particles in the phagolysosome as phagocytosis decreases with decrease in pH. Literature review demonstrates that phagocytosis is lowest at pH 5 while it is equal at pH 6 and pH 7.
