Brittany Maynard was suffering from last stage of brain cancer (terminal cerebrum malignancy). This disease was irreversible and hopeless, so she chooses the death with dignity through the assistance of medicine. She lives in California there willful death was does not have the right amazing, so due to this reason she moved to Oregon. One of Brittany expert recommended the life ending drug and this process was known as euthanasia. In this procedure generally physicians a lethal dose of drug was directly introduced into the body and it leads to death (Fremgen 2016). As a health care professional, I don't trust we must helped an existence however to give it our best shot to enhance life. According to the rule of non malfeasance we should, First do no mischief and think before acting. In my personal opinion, I believe that everyone has the right to make their own decisions for their life. The principle of autonomy means that people have the right to make decisions about their own life (Fremgen 2016). When it comes to the conflict of my professional and personal positions it must come down to believing in the autonomy of the patient. As a professional, I have to believe that after explaining all of the necessary details to the patient that I have to respect the decision of the patient. “According to the Oregon Public Health Division, 1,173 people have had end-of-life medication prescribed to them as of 2013; 752 have actually chosen to ingest it. (Sanburn 2015)” From this statistic, I have confidence in the fact that people simple just want to have the freedom to make this choice for themselves. It is not that we as professionals are trying to play God but we believe in the patient’s rights to make their own choice.
